Russell Shaw runs an independent design studio that focuses on playfulness, thinking before making, and seeing things through from start to finish.

His clients include Kid President, Porsche, Neenah Paper, AMC’s Breaking Bad, Target, The Atlanta Braves, and Tesla. In February 2015, Kid President’s Guide To Being Awesome made the New York Times Best-Seller List (Authors: Brad Montague and Robby Novak; Design and Illustration: Russell Shaw; Art Direction: Kristi Montague). In October 2015, he was one of seven young designers chosen to compete in Command X at AIGA’s 2015 national conference – a live, head-to-head design competition where the audience voted on each designer's work throughout the event – and finished as a finalist. In 2014, he illustrated Brilliant!, a children's book about adoption and hope, written by Matt Burgess. Today, he serves as a consulting art director for Dixon Rye, Serenbe, and ShootProof, freelance designs for agencies and brands, teaches Visual Design at General Assembly Atlanta and speaks on crafting visual brand identities.
