Illustrated, Screen-Printed Posters Celebrating the OBX.

About the Print: In celebration of the American summer and the country’s spirit of adventure, exploration and preservation, Bearings commissioned this print honoring the great Outer Banks – one of the nation’s most distinct and scenic blends of sea and sand. The custom prints captured the essence of these North Carolina barrier islands: the tallest dunes and some of the best surfing on the East Coast. Known as OBX, the print highlights the islands and communities along this 200-mile stretch: from Kitty Hawk and Nags Head, to Hatteras and Ocracoke, and everything in between.

About the Design: The illustration is a 3/0 screen print. A half-toning effect was used to create detail shading effects despite the more limited use of color. The prints was designed as a tri-color series – Carolina Blue, Golden Sand and Sunset Orange.
